Satellite Runs

Because not everyone can participate in the more rigorous Memphis to Peoria Run, satellite runs were started from communities throughout Illinois and Missouri. Satellite runs feature runners from  Bartonville, Bloomington/Normal, Canton, Champaign/Urbana, ChicagoChillicothe, DecaturDunlapEast Peoria, Elmwood, Eureka, GalesburgKewanee, Kickapoo/BrimfieldLaSalle/PeruLewistown, LincolnMackinaw, Macomb, Marshall County, Mason City, Mattoon, Metamora, Minonk, Monticello, Morton, Pekin, Princeville, Quincy, Richwoods High School, Running CentralSpringfield,  St. Louis, Tremont, and Washington. Each of these cities send runners to Peoria to meet the Memphis to Peoria Runners and help kick off the St. Jude Telethon held in Peoria, Illinois, every year in August.

Why I Run

The 2014 St. Jude Runs were able to raise over 4.1 million dollars largely because of the generosity of Gordon Walker, Scott Martin and the Board of Pekin Insurance.  The sponsorship of Pekin Insurance helped ensure that every dollar raised by a St. Jude Runner went directly to the research, treatment and care of Kids with cancer at St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis and the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate in Peoria.

Mostly for fun…..yeah im a goof like that, but the fact that I’m helping others and my own health at the same time is a plus.
